Parental controls for iPhone & iPad

Turn learning app time
into play time.

L2P is a parental control app for iPhone and iPad. Your child earns time for games and entertainment by using learning apps you choose. You set the rules. When earned time runs out, the selected play apps are restricted again.

THE EVERYDAY ROUTINE

Learning first. Play time follows.

Parent setup comes first: choose the learning apps, play apps and how learning time earns play time.

  1. Illustration of a book in a learning app on a tablet.

    Learn

Your child uses a learning app you’ve chosen.

  2. Illustration of learning app time becoming play minutes.

    Earn Play Time

Time in that app earns play minutes under your rule.

  3. Illustration of an open lock beside a selected play app.

    Unlock Play Apps

Selected play apps unlock when play time is available.

  4. Illustration of a play app using time from a shared balance.

    Play

Using those play apps spends the shared play-time balance.

  5. Illustration of a play app locked again while a learning app remains available.

    Automatically Lock Again

At zero, L2P restricts the selected play apps again — not the whole device.

Illustrations explain the routine; they are not app screenshots. L2P counts app usage time, not completed homework or learning results.

What your child sees

Here, 10 learning minutes earned 5 play minutes. After 4 minutes of play, 1 minute remains.

GET READY TOGETHER

Before you start

Set up with your child before their first learning-to-play session. Keep both devices online during setup.

  • Two devices

Have a parent iPhone or iPad and a separate child iPhone or iPad ready. Both need iOS/iPadOS 17.6 or later.

  • Install L2P on both

The parent creates the account and child profile. On the child’s device, choose Child Device and join using the parent’s invitation.

Not just another
blocking app.
A reason to learn.

Build the habit: learn first, then enjoy play.

Help children understand when to learn and when to play, from an early age. They see their Play Time grow and choose how to enjoy it.

When they play, you know they’ve earned it.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO SCREEN TIME

Why this helps your family.

COMMON SCREEN-TIME CHALLENGES

The daily struggles.

  • Daily arguments over “five more minutes.”
  • Screen-time rules don’t fit your family’s needs.
  • Checking and reminding gets in the way of family time.
  • Switching games. No clear time to stop.
  • Little motivation to start learning.
  • Play feels like permission to ask for.
  • Learning and play have no clear routine.
HOW L2P HELPS

Learn. Earn. Enjoy.

  • Less negotiating. An agreed rule can ease the daily back-and-forth about play.
  • Your family, your rules. You choose the Learning Apps, Play Apps and learning-to-play ratio.
  • More time together. Automatic unlocks and locks can mean less checking and more time enjoying your family.
  • One balance, one stopping point. Selected Play Apps share time and lock at zero. Switching adds no time.
  • A reason to begin. Children see Play Time grow with time in approved Learning Apps.
  • Play they can own. They choose approved apps and enjoy the time they’ve earned.
  • A routine to grow with. Help children practise learning first, then enjoying earned play, from an early age.
FAMILY PRIVACY

Your family’s privacy comes first.

You set the rules. You stay in control of your family’s data.

  • Your data isn’t for sale

We don’t sell your family’s personal information.

  • No location tracking

    L2P doesn’t track your child’s GPS location.

  • No advertising profiles

Your child’s learning and play activity isn’t used for advertising.

  • A nickname is enough

Use a nickname for your child. No separate child email account needed.

  • Your data, your control

Export data, clear eligible older history, or delete profiles and your account in the app.

  • Camera only for pairing

The camera scans your family’s join QR code. No photo storage or background recording.

BEFORE YOU START

A few parent questions.

Your apps. Your rule.
A routine they can grow with.

I already use Apple Screen Time. Why add L2P?

Use L2P if you want your child to earn screen time through learning-app use. Apple Screen Time manages device boundaries; L2P adds screen time rewards for the play apps you select. Apple’s own restrictions still apply. Explore how earned play time works.

Can I limit games on my child’s iPad or iPhone?

Yes. L2P works as an app blocker for the games and entertainment apps you select as Play Apps. They share one earned play-time balance and become restricted again when it reaches zero. L2P restricts the selected apps, not the whole device. See the iPad screen time options.

Does L2P include lessons or games?

No. L2P works with apps already installed on your child’s device. You choose them there with parent access: learning apps earn time, and play apps use it. Individual websites are not supported by the current rules. See how to choose apps.

What counts as learning?

L2P counts time spent in your approved Learning Apps. It does not check answers, measure understanding or verify completed homework.

What do we need to get started?

L2P is for iPhone and iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17.6 or later. A parent creates an L2P account, pairs the child’s device and completes Apple Family Sharing and Screen Time authorisation. Then choose the apps and ratio. Follow the setup guides.

What will my child see?

A visible Play Time balance and whether Play Apps are unlocked, with learning and play totals for the day.

See the real Child Mode screenshot
What information does L2P use?

L2P uses parent account details, child profiles, device pairing, rules and learning/play summaries to run your family’s routine. Screen Time controls run on the child’s device where possible, with necessary account, rule, summary and operational records in the cloud. More about data and sharing.

Can I delete my family’s data?

Yes. In Parent Mode, open Settings → Privacy & Data to export data, clear eligible older history, delete a child profile or start account and family deletion. Limited records may remain for legal, security or accountability purposes. How deletion works.
