Connecting with Schools and Community Groups in Melbourne’s North

Introducing L2P to local schools and community groups, and supporting learning-first screen-time routines at home.

We’ve recently been visiting schools in Melbourne’s northern suburbs to introduce L2P – Learn to Play and explore how we can support parents and carers with their children’s learning and screen-time routines at home.

Thank you to the school staff who have taken the time to meet with us and learn about L2P. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with local school communities.

We also welcome conversations with community groups interested in introducing L2P to local families.

Program Access for local families

Participating schools and community groups will receive their own Program Access Code to share with parents and carers through their newsletters or official social media channels.

Each code is intended for families within that participating school or community group, giving parents the opportunity to try L2P with their children at home.

Program Access provides a limited period of no-cost access. The access period, included features and getting-started instructions will be explained in the information shared by each participating school or community group.

Families can choose whether to try L2P, with parents and carers setting up and managing it at home.

For parents and carers

Please look out for L2P information in newsletters or official social media posts from your participating school or community group.

When your school or community group shares its Program Access Code, follow the accompanying instructions to get started and check the details of the access available to your family.

These codes are distributed through participating schools and community groups rather than published in this update. Please use the code provided for your own school or community group.

For help with setup or using L2P, visit our Guides page or contact support@learn2play.com.au.

How L2P supports a learning-first routine

L2P is a parent-controlled learning reward system built around a clear sequence:

  1. LearnUse parent-approved Learning Apps.
  2. Earn Play TimeEarn play time under the family rule.
  3. Unlock Play AppsSelected Play Apps become available.
  4. PlayPlaying uses the earned balance.
  5. Lock AgainSelected Play Apps lock again at zero.

Parents choose which apps count as Learning Apps, which apps count as Play Apps, and the available learn-to-play rule for their family.

Time spent using parent-approved Learning Apps earns play time according to that rule. The selected Play Apps become available when enough play time has been earned. Playing uses that balance, and the selected Play Apps lock again when it reaches zero.

The idea is straightforward: learning comes first, play time is earned, and parents stay in control.

L2P supports the routine around app use. It does not provide lessons or assess what a child has learned, and it does not replace parental guidance or teaching.

An invitation to schools and community groups

Schools and community groups interested in learning more about L2P are welcome to arrange an introductory session.

During a session, we can demonstrate the parent and child experience, explain how the learning-to-play routine works, and discuss how Program Access could be introduced to families in your school or community group.

There is also an opportunity to ask questions about setup, parent involvement, and sharing information through your existing communication channels.

Whether your school or community group is exploring support for learning routines at home or would simply like to understand how L2P works, we would welcome the conversation.

To enquire about a session, use our Contact Us page or email support@learn2play.com.au. Please include your school or community group’s name, your role and your preferred times so we can discuss a suitable arrangement.

We look forward to connecting with more schools and community groups and supporting families as they explore a learning-first approach to screen time.
